Scribner’s Catskill Lodge is a contemporary mountain retreat reimagined for a new generation of explorers. Set against the rolling peaks of the Catskills, it blends thoughtful design, expansive views, and a welcoming sense of community. Equal parts basecamp and gathering place, it invites guests to slow down, step outside, and reconnect with nature in every season.

Overview

Originally a 1960s motor lodge, Scribner’s has been thoughtfully revived into a design-forward escape that honors its heritage while embracing modern mountain living. Warm woods, handcrafted details, terra-cotta tiles, fireplaces, and floor-to-ceiling windows frame the surrounding landscape. Every space is designed to feel both grounded and elevated, refined yet relaxed.

Accommodation is split between the main Lodge and The Rounds, a collection of freestanding circular cabins tucked further up the mountain. The Lodge’s 38 rooms range from cozy Mountain Rooms to expansive Suites with private terraces and fireplaces. The Rounds offer a more immersive experience, with vaulted ceilings, oculus skylights for stargazing, private lawns, and outdoor Japanese soaking tubs that bring you closer to the elements.

Prospect, the lodge’s restaurant and bar, has become a destination in its own right. Rooted in New American cuisine with a focus on local purveyors and produce from the on property garden, it offers panoramic mountain views and a convivial atmosphere. Breakfasts unfold slowly, evenings gather around cocktails and fire pits, and weekends often carry the gentle energy of shared celebration.

Beyond its interiors, Scribner’s stretches across meadow paths, forest edges, decks, and gathering spaces designed for connection. A barrel sauna, seasonal pool, skating rink, yoga studio, library, fire pits, and curated programming encourage guests to engage as much or as little as they wish. The Catskills set the rhythm. Scribner’s simply gives it form.
