Zannier Omaanda

A soulful safari lodge near Windhoek

Zannier Omaanda is a safari lodge shaped by conservation, craftsmanship, and emotional connection to the land. Set within a vast private Namibian reserve, its fifteen thatched huts rise gently from the savannah, blending traditional Owambo architecture with refined simplicity. Wildlife roams freely beyond private terraces, and each day unfolds between sunrise drives, open fires, and wide African skies.

Overview

Located within the 22,000-acre Zannier Reserve, Omaanda offers rare access to Namibia’s bushveld landscape while remaining only thirty minutes from Windhoek. The conservancy plays an active role in wildlife protection, managed in partnership with the N/a’an ku sê Foundation, a respected organization dedicated to rescue, rehabilitation, and coexistence between communities and animals.

The fifteen detached huts are inspired by traditional Owambo dwellings, built with clay walls and thatched roofs. Interiors are understated and tactile, featuring fireplaces, warm earth tones, and expansive terraces overlooking the plains. One- and two-bedroom configurations allow for both intimacy and family travel. Privacy is intrinsic, yet service remains highly attentive.

Safari experiences are deeply personal. Guests explore the reserve in private 4WD vehicles with expert guides, tracking rhino, elephant, and big cats. Visits to the wildlife sanctuary provide meaningful insight into conservation work. This is not spectacle-driven safari tourism. It is immersive and educational.

Dining reflects Namibia’s landscape. At Ambo Delights, seasonal produce and local game are prepared with respect for nature. Evenings gather around the Boma fire under starlit skies. Wellness complements adventure, with sunrise yoga, African-inspired spa rituals, and an open-air infinity pool overlooking the savannah.
